Biography
Sam Green is a drummer and musician living in Epsom, Surrey. From modest beginnings playing his favourite songs with friends, he progressed to studying at the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) in Guildford and then into a full-time teaching and playing career. Notable highlights so far have been gigs at the Queens Stand in Epsom Downs with The Rockefellas, recording the album 'Reap' with the band UK Heights and playing live on BBC Radio Wales with singer/songwriter October.
Most recently, he has been gigging regularly with local 90's brit-pop/indie tribute band, Still Marchin' and his own baggy blues outfit, Armchair Weekend. An avid songwriter and music producer, Sam spends the rest of his time writing, recording and producing his own material under the name Pattern Break. December 2010 saw the release of his genre-spanning debut album, 'Decoding the Illusion', which is available on iTunes.
Sam first began teaching in 2005 whilst still at ACM and since then has become an accomplished and seasoned educator, teaching over a hundred students in and around the Surrey area. In 2007, he joined the Drumsense teaching programme and received full drum teacher training from Drumsense founder, Colin Woolway.
Inspired by Sams infectious enthusiasm for the instrument and his patient and calm teaching style, many students have joined local bands, passed grade exams and successfully enrolled at the ACM.
To this day, Sam still looks forward to each lesson and takes great pleasure from passing his knowledge onto others.
